What clients have shared with us
Rozana Putri
Head of Corporate Affairs, Petaling Jaya
We came to Foxglen without a clear sense of who our stakeholders actually were — we knew there were gaps but couldn't name them precisely. The mapping session gave us a written picture we could work from immediately. It wasn't dramatic, but it was genuinely useful. The map identified three relationships we'd been handling inconsistently for years.

The Approach Advisory took us through four sessions that were more practical than I expected. There's a tendency for advisory work to stay at a conceptual level, but Foxglen pushed us toward concrete decisions in each session. The templates they provided have been used by our team every quarter since — that's the real test.

For a non-profit working with government agencies, community groups, and donors simultaneously, stakeholder engagement is genuinely complex. Foxglen helped us see those relationships as a system rather than three separate communication problems. The session notes were detailed and honest — they didn't just summarise what we'd said, they added perspective.

We used the Practice Programme, which was a significant investment of time across our senior team. It was worth it. Eleven sessions sounds like a lot, but the pacing was well-judged — spaced enough that we had time to act on things between sessions. The playbooks are now a standard reference in our department.

Good experience, though I'd say the pace of the Approach Advisory assumed we had more internal bandwidth than we did at the time. The advisers were flexible about adjusting timings, which helped. The templates themselves were solid — clearly written for people who actually need to use them, not just reference them.

I appreciated that the Foxglen team was direct in the first conversation about whether the Mapping Session would be enough for what I was describing. It was. I didn't need the larger programme — the map gave me clarity I'd been missing for a long time, and the note highlighted a stakeholder relationship I'd undervalued significantly.

Case Studies
A closer look at three engagements
Case Study 01 — Financial Services · Approach Advisory
Challenge
A mid-size investment firm had grown quickly and found that its stakeholder communication had not kept pace. Different departments were sending inconsistent messages to the same investor groups, and relationships with two key regulatory contacts had become strained through neglect rather than any specific incident.
Solution
Foxglen ran the Approach Advisory across four sessions over seven weeks. The first session mapped stakeholders and identified the inconsistency problem. Sessions two and three developed a single communication framework and assigned ownership across departments. Session four reviewed the plan and provided the handover document.
Outcome
Within three months of completing the programme, the firm reported that both regulatory contacts had been re-engaged through structured meetings. Internal communication had been consolidated under a single stakeholder update process. One senior team member described the result as "finally having a system, not just intentions."

Case Study 02 — Healthcare Administration · Practice Programme
Challenge
A healthcare management body needed to rebuild trust with several hospital networks following a period of policy changes that had been poorly communicated. Staff at partner hospitals described feeling "informed after the fact" rather than consulted in any meaningful way.
Solution
Foxglen ran the Practice Programme over five months. The foundation phase identified the full stakeholder landscape and set goals for each relationship. The build phase produced a tiered engagement model distinguishing between groups requiring active consultation and those needing regular updates. The embed phase coached the internal team on maintaining cadences independently.
Outcome
By the end of the programme, the body had established formal consultation schedules with four hospital network representatives and a standard update process covering twelve partner groups. A post-programme survey conducted internally found that 80% of internal staff described their understanding of stakeholder responsibilities as "significantly clearer" than before.

Case Study 03 — Education Organisation · Mapping Session
Challenge
A private education organisation preparing for an accreditation process needed to understand whether its stakeholder relationships — with parents, partner schools, employers, and alumni — were in a condition that would support a positive assessment. They had no prior formal stakeholder mapping.
Solution
Foxglen completed a single Mapping Session with the organisation's leadership team. The session worked through all four stakeholder categories — parents, partner schools, employers, and alumni — and assessed how each group was currently engaged, what communication existed, and what each group's primary concerns were likely to be.
Outcome
The map identified that alumni engagement was almost entirely absent despite being an accreditation criterion. The organisation used the output to establish a basic alumni contact programme over the following eight weeks. The leadership team reported that having a written stakeholder picture made planning conversations significantly more focused.
Timeline: one session · Programme: Mapping Session · Fee: RM 500
